I’ve been making guitars for over 25 years. My formative years were at Hamer Guitars and with  innovative luthier Ralph Novak.  In 2009, I joined Guru Guitars in Raleigh, NC, where I focused on vintage guitar repairs. At Guru I discovered my love of  building pickups. I even wound some of my first pickups on a Singer sewing machine. 

In 2017, I co-founded Hybrid Guitar Company with luthier Wes Lambe and musician Charlie Hunter. Since our start, we’ve produced over 300 guitars for customers worldwide. My passion for music and gear led me to the pedal steel guitar in 2019. Like many new players, I struggled with my sound, so began to experiment with winding pickups for my steel. After hundreds of prototypes, I’ve developed my own versions of classic designs that I want to share with others. 

My next chapter, HomeSpun Pickups, reflects my 25 years of experience as a musician, luthier, and gear enthusiast.
